Situation
The village is situated in the most eastern part of Vaucluse and straddles the upper Calavon valley, between Luberon and Monts de Vaucluse.
Saint Martin is a rural community, classed as a mountain area because of the difference in altitude of 800 metres between the valley of the Calavon and the Luberon ridge. Here, also, agriculture has shaped the landscape and although it now employs few workers, it continues to care for the land and ensures the quality of the environment.

History and heritage
On the territory of the locality, fine houses and chapels stand facing Grand Luberon in an intact environment.
Saint Martin is built on the Domitian Way and has lived through its history. You will be struck by the quiet charm of this rural community as you wander through the cobbled streets, hamlets, walkers’ trails and fields. The local heritage is marked by modest but charming dry-stone cabins, wells, terraces, etc. The visitor should not miss the recently-restored Chapel of the White Penitents, where numerous local and regional artists hold exhibitions.

Leisure activities
Local people and visitors alike enjoy the René Olive municipal swimming pool, the cultural centre at the Chapel of the White Penitents, the library, with its exhibition and entertainment room, the rock climbing wall and the Apt cycle track at Pareire.

Useful information
Holiday-makers and passing visitors will appreciate the hotel-restaurant, camp site, bar, grocery shop and numerous gîtes and bed-and-breakfast establishments.
