The red carpet along the lane leads to the entrance. Worn sofas, old-fashioned photos on the wall, a majestic bar with a zinc countertop, chandeliers in the living room... The stage has been well-worn by French and foreign performers. One can almost hear the seats groaning as the audience shifts and moves, the echo of the performances created on stage. The long rehearsal hall is also used for exhibitions. The workshop smells of elbow grease. Outdoors, the patio bursts with colour in spring. From the kitchen come the good smells of meals being prepared, everywhere the souvenir of the companies who have worked here.
"Le vélo", is a troupe, a passionate team, a hotbed of ideas, a laboratory for emotions, a place for experimentation and artistic research, a venue open to performers and audiences.
Day in and day out, it is:
• Support for new works,
• A place to accompany marionettes and effigy theatre,
• The county centre for artistic creation,
• A regional centre for cultural development,
• "Greli Grelo" a festival for children and their families,
• "les cris poétiques" – readings by authors, awareness-raising for young audiences, "Tridanse", a regional network of choreographers in residence,
• Crossroads between arts & sciences,
• Pluri-disciplinary programming.
